I find it rather fascinating how circumstances can change your stance on things. I am myself a victim of this aspect of life as much as anyone else. Things you may have had no interest in before may suddenly appear a lot more attractive to you when there is some external input in your life. It is really weird, as it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. How can I possibly be suddenly be interested in something, just because of something outside affecting me in some way? How can I, on a personal level, find something interesting all of a sudden? I understand the concept of trying to impress someone to make one example, but that doesn't affect oneself on a personal level, or does it? It makes sense if you did not spent time with something before and while you may now do it, you may discover a hidden interest you may have had already, but that would mean it is on a personal level again. But how can I be interested in something simply due to an external factor?

To unveil the elephant in the room: After learning a base level of Russian I've decided to stop that for the time being and focus on Japanese instead. Reason being that I met a person I find quite interesting which has at first lead me to engage with all things Japanese, but now I found myself in the predicament that I find it genuinely interesting. As such I've made the decision to dedicate a little bit of time every day to engage with that culture and see where it goes.

Regarding my job, everything is going fine. I'll have another exam this week and hope to pass it. Next week I will join one of our teams with a few senior devs, so I hope to learn a lot more there. I cannot wait to finish this apprenticeship and get that foundation in my life that I seek. It would be amazing.
